CrimeNtel - Criminal Intelligence Software

Product Description
CrimeNtel is a criminal intelligence database
system designed to track criminal intelligence information related
to subjects, groups, addresses, vehicles, businesses, telephone numbers,
images, sources of intelligence and MO's. The software was designed
from the ground-up to comply with US Federal guideline 28 CFR Part
23 and other international known good practices for gathering and
maintaining criminal intelligence data.
CrimeNtel is easily customized to suit your agency's needs. It is
designed to run under all versions of Microsoft Windows™ from
Windows 95 on up to Windows XP. It supports industry standard databases
including RBASE (included for no additional licensing costs), Microsoft
SQL Server and Oracle.
Intelligence is
the Focal Point
The intelligence submission - not the subject
- needs to be the focal point of any criminal intelligence system.
This allows the system to automatically cross-link subjects, groups,
addresses, vehicles, businesses, images, sources and MO's through
their common intelligence submissions, which in-turn document the
tie-ins between these entities.
Simple but Powerful
Data Entry
Law enforcement software with sophisticated
linking often burdens users with complex data entry. CrimeNtel's intelligence
submission interface has been designed and tested with the assistance
of key customers.
Our goal is to provide the easiest and
most intuitive data entry format that supports CrimeNtel's powerful
linking capabilities. A unique feature is the use of icons and "tree
views" to show linked elements at a glance.
Multi-layered
access/security control
All records entered into the system are
assigned an access level (1 through 5). Each user is assigned an
access level as well. Users can only access records at or below
their access - ensuring screening based on need-to-know.
User Permissions
CI Technologies recognizes that not all users of CrimeNtel will
have the same user permissions. The system has been designed so
that your agency can define the permissions and features a user
has access to. For example a user can be given any of the following
permissions:
- Global Read/Write
- The user can edit any record, provided they have the proper
access level.
- Read/Write Own
- The user can only edit records they have entered into the system.
- Read Only
- The user can only view records in the system.
Automatic Cross-Linking
CrimeNtel's design is focused around the
intelligence submissions in the system. Intelligence submissions are
linked to related subjects, vehicles, businesses, groups, telephones,
images, sources, and modus operandi (MO's). These records are, in
turn, automatically cross-linked to each other via the intelligence
they are linked through.
A key advantage of cross-linking is that
it provides analytical capabilities by displaying the strength of
cross-links. This indicates multiple intelligence submissions linking
together two records, multiple times.
Search Capabilities
CrimeNtel offers "Fast Find" and "Query Builders"
throughout to easily search any data field or combination of data
fields. The ability to conduct a "sounds" like and partial
text search is supported, as is the search of all narratives that
contain a word or phrase.
The simplicity of CrimeNtel's search
capabilities is a key component to CrimeNtel's power.
Link Charts
CrimeNtel 5.0 introduces a link chart feature. This feature allows
CrimeNtel users to quickly, with just a few mouse clicks, create
charts displaying the relationships between intelligence information.
Link charts can be printed or saved for
future reference.
