CaseInfo - Criminal Case Management Software

Product Information Sheet

Case Management
CaseInfo's approach to case management is the Case Explorer, a visual representation of a CID division's caseload. Each investigative unit is displayed using a "tree view". Under each investigative unit appears investigators assigned to the unit and their cases. The Case Explorer gives supervisors, commanders and investigators a "bird's eye view" of their unit's current caseload and the status of each case, enabling them to quickly drill down to the details with a few mouse clicks.

Investigative Support
CaseInfo is much more than just a case management system. It incorporates unique investigative support features designed to help investigators solve cases by discovering links and tie-ins they may not otherwise know about.

CaseInfo offers a "To Do" list showing investigative tasks needed to be completed for a case. The task list is shown at logon and tasks are marked completed as the investigation proceeds.

CaseInfo's Microsoft Word document integration allows investigators to complete and manage investigation reports under a case.

When any subject, vehicle, address, phone number, or business is entered into CaseInfo, the user is immediately notified of any possible matches to information already in the system.

Sophisticated Linking
Linking is inherent in CaseInfo's design. Information entered into CaseInfo is easily and, in many cases, automatically, linked as appropriate. Links, and links via links, are instantly displayed as information is searched and accessed throughout the system. CaseInfo's "tree views" are designed to show relationships between information at a glance.

Major Case Features
CaseInfo provides powerful support for Major Cases. Multiple investigators jointly contribute investigative leads to a single case. As leads come in, CaseInfo's innovative interface conveys linked information quickly. This allows investigators assigned to a major case to discover relationships among information that they otherwise may not have known about.

CI Technologies is uniquely qualified to provide major case support - the company got its start by helping create the software used by the Gainesville, Florida student murders task force in 1990. The companies first product, the original CaseInfo, was a Major Case system. CaseInfo for Windows' Major Case modules fill the needs of such investigations while still being an integrated part of the overall system.

Microsoft™ Word/Corel ™ WordPerfect Integration
With CaseInfo, investigators can work with and manage Microsoft Word™ or Corel™ WordPerfect documents without leaving CaseInfo. As an investigator views an incident within CaseInfo, all associated Word documents are displayed within the incident.

Additionally, Microsoft Word™ templates are supported. Forms can be created one-time as Microsoft Word™ templates and reused over and over. More importantly, as forms are pulled up, CaseInfo automatically fills them out, saving time and preventing duplication of work.

Access/Security Controls
CaseInfo has several layers of access/security controls, insuring that information contained in CaseInfo is visible on a "need-to-know" basis. Each CaseInfo user is assigned "permissions" defining the information they can access and the read/write settings for each user.

In addition, CaseInfo's "Case Lockout" feature allows an investigator or group of investigators to lock out access to a sensitive case from all other CaseInfo users. At a later time the case can be unlocked allowing other users the ability to access the valuable information pertaining to the case.

Digital Imaging
CaseInfo's powerful digital imaging feature allows the linking of images to cases, case events, subjects, vehicles, businesses and addresses. Images are obtained directly within CaseInfo using a scanner or digital camera. CaseInfo also allows for the linking of images from exisiting image files. Mug shots, scanned documents, and evidence photographs are just some of the options available.

Search Capabilities
CaseInfo offers "Fast Find" and "Query Builders" throughout to easily search any data field or combination of data fields. The ability to conduct a "sounds" like and partial text search is supported, as is the search of all narratives that contain a word or phrase.

The simplicity of CaseInfo's search capabilities is a key component to CaseInfo's power.
